How to Install macOS 26 Tahoe, iOS 26, and iPadOS 26 Public Betas

Apple has released the public betas of its latest operating systems for all its devices. In this guide, I will show you how to install macOS 26 Tahoe, iOS 26, and iPadOS 26 public betas on your devices.

Before we begin, remember to create a backup of your device, so if anything goes wrong or you want to revert to the current stable builds, you don’t lose your data.

How to install macOS 26 Tahoe public beta

To install macOS 26 Tahoe public beta,

1. Use the  Menu to launch the System Settings app.

2. Open the General settings, and click on the Software Update setting.

3. Let it check for the update and click the (i) button next to Beta Updates.

4. Click on the dropdown menu next to Beta Updates, choose the macOS 26 Tahoe Public Beta and click the Done button.

6. Your Mac will look for the public beta and present it. Click the Upgrade Now button and confirm with your Mac’s password to install the update.

How to install the iOS 26 public beta

The steps to install the iOS 26 public beta are similar to those for the Mac:

1 Launch the Settings app, open the General Settings, and click the Software Update button.

2. Click on Beta Updates and choose the iOS 26 Public Beta option.

3. Wait for the update to load and tap the Update Now button. Since I have already updated its' not showing up for me here.

How to install the iPadOS 26 public beta

To install the iPadOS 26 public beta on your iPad:

1. Launch the Settings app, select the General Settings, and tap the Software Update option.

2. Now, tap on Beta Updates.

3. Select the iPadOS 26 Public Beta option and tap the back arrow button.

3. Tap the Update Now button and confirm with your iPad’s password. Since I have already updated the iPad, you don't see the public beta option in the screenshot below.
