The Ultra-Slim Clear Case Your iPhone Deserves

An ultra-slim clear case that keeps your iPhone Air protected without hiding its design - TAC Premium clear case review.

The Ultra-Slim Clear Case Your iPhone Deserves

Generally, I am not a fan of clear cases. But the iPhone Air begs to be used naked or with a clear case. Since I am not daredevil enough to use my phone without protection, the clear case was the way to go.

I also wanted the case to be thin to preserve the overall slim profile. And I think I have finally found an ultra-slim, clear case that does justice to the iPhone Air’s design.

In this video, I will unbox and review the TAC Premium Case for the iPhone Air.

TAC Premium iPhone Air case unboxing

The TAC Premium iPhone Air case comes in a premium-quality black box. The case is available in two colors - Onyx Black and Diamond Clear. The Onyx Black case features a frosted black finish that will pair beautifully with the black iPhone Air.

If you want a stealthier look, you can even pair it with the white, blue, or gold iPhone Air.

Taking the case out of the box, it feels slim and lightweight. The case is only 1mm thick and weighs around 20 grams. I love that the case has branding on the inside, so it looks clean when you put it on the iPhone.

Since the case is ultra-slim, it doesn't have buttons. Instead, there are precise cut-outs for buttons, microphone grills, and the charging port.

The case feels good in hand. It adds virtually no bulk to the device and features a grippy finish, reducing the chance of the iPhone slipping from your hands.

There’s a big camera visor that protects the lens. There’s also ample lip around the display to protect against scratches. The case is screen protector-friendly, and you can install any tempered glass screen protector.

I am using the TAC matte screen protector for the iPhone Air. It’s one of the best matte screen protectors on the market. Let me know if you want to see a review, and I will make it.

Here’s a look at the Diamond Clear case. It certainly looks more striking on my Gold iPhone Air. Look at both the cases side by side and make the purchase decision.

As you might have noticed, the TAC Premium case is MagSafe compatible. I am happy to report that the magnets are quite strong. Any MagSafe accessory you attach to the case will be secure.

TAC iPhone Air clear case: final thoughts

At the time of posting this review, I have been using the TAC case for about two weeks. While that’s not enough time to judge the case’s long-term durability, it has held up well and resisted scratches and scuffs.

My iPhone Air had a nasty fall from table height on a concrete surface a few days back, and the case protected the iPhone and the screen protector. Some cases tend to pop off when you drop your iPhone, but the TAC case stayed securely in place and did its job.

If you want a clear case for your iPhone Air, I recommend the TAC case. It’s both better and cheaper than the official Apple clear case.

If you want an even slimmer case, you can opt for the non-MagSafe version, which measures just 0.6 mm thick. Before you go, you can click the link to read our review of the Beats iPhone Air case.
